Installation configuration

The installer will ask you a few questions, some are VERY important. This page will try to give you some help about them.

The installer for Sentora is slightly improved from the firsts used by ZPanel

1) Select your TimeZone

Select your country from the pseudo-graphic interface (Ubuntu) or lists (CentOs).

2) Sentora subdomain

It is the domain name you will use to access your control panel after installation (URL of the panel).

It MUST be a sub-domain of the main domain above. Enter the complete sub-domain name.

The installer will check the sub-domain validity : it MUST be setup in DNS (and propagated) PRIOR to run the installer.


FOR ADVANCED ADMIN ONLY: if you want to install a local server for local usage only (test server), you will not be able to reach it by domain until you setup a local dns (usually in router tables).
You can enter any main domain and subdomain you want (but remember that a main domain have at last one dot).

You can later change the panel domain Changing Sentora sub-domain.

3) Public IP of the server

The installer will propose the public IP it found from a command sent to Sentora API website. It should be ok.

FOR ADVANCED ADMIN ONLY: If you are installing a local server for local use, you must enter LOCAL IP (that is displayed if different from public IP).
 

4) Confirmation:

If you have warning before confirmation question, Sentora WILL NOT WORK, partially on completely, as public web server.
You are advised to ensure that you REALLY want to install Sentora with this setup. Confirm only if you know why and at your own risk, your are advised and WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HELP YOU EFFICIENTLY.

 

The install will really starts only after confirmation. If you abort here, you can restart the installer at any time with a very few change of your config (installer may have installed timezone and wget packages only).

Once you confirmed the install, changes will not able to run again the installer without reinstalling the OS.

 

Do not forget:

 

- You have to open all ports required by the server (see Setting up your firewall) and to redirect them to your server local IP (the IP it have in your network). The procedure depends of your modem/router.

- At end of install, all passwords are stored in /root/passwords.txt file

- At end of install, you MUST apply any emergency patch if any is mentioned here Security updates and patches
